A day with Jason...

Neilyn came to our house for a visit a few weeks ago and this week was her brothers turn. We started out by making some chocolate cupcakes.

Played with puzzles.....

Learned how to play some games on the computer that Royce's kids had shown him.....

Took a break to eat lunch with Elder Munroe and his dad. Honorio stopped by for lunch and his English lesson with El Profesor....

We got the cupcakes frosted...

We made a plate of goodies to take home and "called it a day."

El Profesor....

Elder Munroe has been teaching Honorio English for many months. He usually comes to our house for lunch and a lesson twice a week. He has progressed over fhe last few months and is eager to learn. El Profesor also helped him set up a Yahoo account so that he can communicate by email with his family in Panama. Then they made a trip to the Internet Cafe in San Marcos this week so that he could learn how to log-in and use the services that they provide. They rounded off the week with a quick driving lesson. That seemed to be a little less successful. Honorio couldn't quite figure out the correct balance of using the gas, brake, and clutch. They jerked and bounced up and down the roads a bit and after the dust settled, decided to call it a day. This week will bring more English learning....

Welcome to the Branch....

We are so excited for this wonderful family. You might remember us posting about them last Summer and Fall.....Jairo, Ginette, and Deilyn. We worked with them when we first got here and we taught them all of the discussions. They had a few obstacles to conquer and one of them was to be married. We had a nice wedding for them and had multiple dates set for baptism. They both had a keen desire to be baptized but seemed to have difficulty overcoming some of their previous habits and addictions. After months of meeting with them on a weekly, sometimes a daily basis, they seemed to have drifted away and lost sight of their goal to become members of the church. Through many trials, they reappeared at church a few weeks ago and wanted to be baptized. They received the discussions again and were baptized in June. They have been extremely active in the branch and have added to the spirit there. We are excited for them and their decisions to come closer to Christ.

Happy Birthday Maria....

It was Maria's birthday today. We took this picture of their family after church today. Don't they look great? They haven't missed a week since they were baptized in February and they have become such a strong part of the branch. They seem to have really grasped the principles of the gospel and are being blessed in many ways. We took some ice cream and chocolate cake over to their house in the evening to celebrate....
They LOVE chocolate cake! Little Mario was licking his lips and smiling from ear to ear. He loves a party! Happy Birthday Maria...we are glad that we could celebrate with you!

Fun Filled Day...

We had a fun day last week with Neilyn. It was a day full day of Hermana Munroe and Neilyn doing "girl" things and enjoying every minute of it.

They made "American" cookies and Neilyn got to help with every step....

They took a break for puzzles and games while the cookies were baking....Then it was time for the keyboard before lunch.....They sandwiches together and ate with Elder Munroe..... Then they were off to play with makeup, put on lotion, and paint their nails.....

They played a few more games..... Then it was time to get our things together and to get ready to go home....

For a little girl who has very little, it was a fun day full of many firsts. We loved having her here with us and look forward to her big brother, Jason, coming over next week. We will probably make cupcakes or muffins with him. It should be fun!
