Welcome to the world Neymar!!

Little Neymar was welcomed into the world this week by his parents Honorio and Maria. We picked up Honorio in San Marcos today and drove with him to Cartago to pick up Maria from the hospital.

We watched many couples leave the hospital with their new babies. There were no frills. No wheelchairs for the new moms, no car seats or baby carriers required, and no rules or laws. Everyone just walked our holding their babies or jumped in a taxi with their baby in their arms and drove away. It was a new experience for us to witness.Proud papa of four, Honorio....

Jason, Neilyn, Mario, and their Aunt were all happy to welcome Neymar to their home...

Neymar was named after a young Brazilian soccer player who is a favorite of many. He sure is a calm little baby and has been born into a family who is ready to surround him with love.

Braulio's Special Day....

We had a nice day with the Vega Valverde family today. Braulio Valverde, whose mother and sisters attend our branch, recently turned 8 and today was his baptismal day. Elder Munroe baptized his father, Luis, last year and so it was important to him to also be baptized by Elder Munroe. You can click HERE to read about Luis' baptism. We gave him a set of scriptures and a few laminated pictures to help him remember his special day.
Here are Braulio, Rocio Vega (his mother), Jennifer Chacon (his oldest sister), and Jonathan (Jennifer's fiance) before the baptism. Hermana Rocio has tried to remain a strong member in the gospel and many people in her family have been blessed by her faith. Jennifer, her oldest daughter, was baptized in February and met her fiance in a singles ward in San Jose. They will be married this next year so that they can be sealed in the San Jose Temple. Katherine, the middle daughter, was not able to attend the baptism for some reason. Here are Elder Munroe and Braulio just before he was baptized. We are happy for Braulio and his decision to be baptized. We know that he will be blessed throughout his life as he uses the scriptures and prayer as a guide to help him return to his heavenly father someday. Welcome to the Los Santos Branch Braulio!
