We went on a drive on our "preparation day" a few weeks ago. We went through
Cartago and stopped by this interesting Catholic church to check it out and stretch our legs. This particular church is very important in Costa Rica. Thousands of people from all over the country make a pilgrimage here during
Semana Santa, the Holy Week, every year. It will be packed with people in just a few short weeks.
We continued on to Valle
de Orosi and thought it was a very pretty place. It was different vegetation from what we are used to seeing in our area. Lots of farms but very little coffee!
It was very green and lush. The clouds often settle in the mountains and we happened to go on a day where our visibility was limited. It was still very pretty and a nice drive regardless.
